The Rev. Kirsten Evenden began her ministry within Oceanside in the fall of 2022 as incumbent in near by Nanoose Bay, and she becoming our Priest in Charge as of April 2023. Rev. Kirsten is a self proclaimed “Island girl at heart,” having grown up on Vancouver Island. She will quickly share that she spent much of her childhood exploring forest floors, ocean shores and watching the beauty of the night sky. Kirsten completed her Master of Divinity through the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax NS and comes to St. Anne and St. Edmunds, after years serving churches and the greater Dicoese of Islands and Inlets in many different capacities. Kirsten brings with her a love of music and creativity in liturgy, as well as much experience with intergenerational ministry opportunities and a passion for community building. In her spare time Kirsten can be found embracing creative expression through music, writing and photography, enjoying the beauty of Island living, as well as working on projects with her husband around their home in Nanaimo.
