We are raising a new roof at St. Anne’s, the island’s oldest log church, and we need your help!
From generation to generation, over the years since 1894, the St. Anne’s has been a place of peace and beauty in the midst of life’s bustle, and our churchyard has become the final resting-place for thousands of local residents.
As we celebrate 125+ years of service, we are seeking to raise $125,000 this summer, and due to the help of a generous donor within our community, the first $50,000 will now be matched dollar-for-dollar! We are off to a great start!
Our new roof installation will use locally-sourced and locally-made cedar shakes that are consistent with the character and history of the building.
This Project Appeal for our 125th Anniversary was necessarily delayed two years ago at the beginning of the pandemic ~ now is the time to bring it to completion! Gifts to our project will be split 50%/50% between capital and program purposes. You may also elect to designate a donation solely as capital or program.
Our programming plans include year-round outreach, featuring youth events, youth mentoring and employment, elder support through health and recreational programming, and inclusive expressions of personal and spiritual growth, education, and creative arts for all ages.
We are reaching out to all who have an interest and stake in the well-being of St. Anne’s and its churchyard, to create awareness of our celebrations, plans, and programs, and to seek support for our project.
