5 Local Online Options to Celebrate Easter Eve (Saturday) and Easter Sunday

News update for Saturday April 11th  

Easter Greetings to all our members, friends, and associates!  

Here is a summary of 5 local options for online Easter celebrations this evening, Holy Saturday, and during the day on Easter Sunday.    Join us online for any or all of the following opportunities:  

1)    Holy Saturday (this evening) 7.00 pm:   Bell-Ringing at St. Anne’s  

This bell-ringing will be for the dual purpose of announcing in advance and calling us to  celebrate at home the arrival of Easter (the sun sets at 8.05 pm, marking the beginning of Easter Day), and honouring and celebrating the contribution of all our Health Care workers, who are typically changing shift close to this time, and honouring all our frontline essential service workers.    Andrew will be online on Facebook Live at ParksvilleAnglicans, and I invite you to participate either by listening in, or with your own form of bell-ringing or alternates, such as using pots and pans, or any appropriate noise-maker suited to your situation.  

2)    Holy Saturday (this evening) 8.30 pm – 8.45 pm :  Islands-Wide Celebration  

We will join in celebration with people all over the islands and inlets of the West Coast in a 15-minute celebration of the introductory part of the Easter Vigil, with the lighting of the Paschal Candle, and singing of the Exsultet:    https://bc.anglican.ca/events/livestream-easter-vigil-in-the-islands-and-inlets/2020-04-11  

3)    Holy Saturday (this evening) 9.00 pm :  Easter Vigil in St. Edmund’s.  

Christine will lead us through a Service of the Word for the Easter Vigil   You may watch this live, or later in your own time, on our Facebook page ParksvilleAnglicans.  

4)    Easter Sunday 10.00 am:  The Sunday of the Resurrection, at St. Edmund’s  

We will share an online Service of the Word for the Sunday of the Resurrection.   You may watch this live at 10.00 am, or later in your own time, on our Facebook page ParksvilleAnglicans.    

5)    Sunday in your own time:  pre-recorded Easter Services from Christ Church Cathedral   Bishop Logan and the cathedral have pre-recorded (during March) an Easter Sunday morning service of the Word at Christ Church Cathedral, and a service of Choral Evensong.  You make enjoy these services in your own home and in your own time on Easter Sunday, or at any time thereafter that works for you:
